Internet – the intra-terrestrial world
Whenever I have a question, I google them. It didn’t work that way years before. People had to go to libraries and refer to pages. Now, it’s like having a library at home that gives us the exact book we need, with the exact page to read. It’s like a genie in the lamp, I rub the lamp, and lo and behold, the genie answers my question. But what I see is how I see it. I type in, “Proof that God exists”, I get a million hits. I type in, “Proof that God doesn’t exist”, I get a million hits for that too. I type in, “World’s going to end”, or “World’s not going to end”, I get a million hits no matter what. Looks like whatever I type, someone in the world has an opinion about it. It doesn’t matter what anyone says, ultimately, it’s my intuition and my experience.
If someone asks me, “What does sugar taste like?”. If I am someone who has never tasted sugar in my life before, I can only have 2 sane responses to that question. Either, “I have never tasted sugar, what is it like? I would like to taste it myself”. Great answer. Or, “I have never tasted sugar and I don’t care what it tastes like either”. Another great response. If I say, “I have never tasted sugar, but I know it tastes salty because it’s written so in that book”, then that’s unacceptable. Maybe the author of that book tasted it himself and shared his experience, maybe he didn’t, we have no way of knowing. Unfortunately, this is how the world is today. People quote some words somewhere from the internet and say, “It’s written there, so I believe it”. Many people are trying to resort to the internet to confirm a prejudice they already carry in their minds.
I believe the internet is to be opened like an inquisitive kid in wonderment with an open mind, “Aah… wow… really? How’s that? How do we know that? Can I see it? Can I experience it? How is that possible?”. And not for what it’s being used today, “See I told you, Moon landing is fake! They filmed that in the deserts of Nevada in Area 51. Look at this picture in FakeNewsAndPhotoshoppedImages.com, you can see a McDonald’s arch in that picture in the moon. How’s that even possible?”. Right. Did we land on the moon? Did we not? I have no idea! I was not there with Neil Armstrong, so I don’t know either way. But I am in wonder either way, “Aah… wow… really?”
World is a painting, what we see is how we see it.
